Red Horn Coral, a fossil animal, dates from the Paleozoic Era when an ancient sea stretched from the Gulf of Mexico to Alaska, covering portions of Utah.  Over millions of years, the coral fossilized with impregnated colorless agate.  The agatized center ranges from pink to red and shows the distinct radiating structure of the animal.

This red horn coral is found near Rileys Canyon, Utah.
