What We Do

Our work with natural stone is a shared effort: Richard does the heavy lifting (literally) of large pieces and Cathy designs and creates smaller rock objects.

This effort is the convergence of several parallel paths: an enthusiasm for earth history, mentorships with old-school rock hounds and lapidary folk, and iterative experiment with three-dimensional media.  Over the years...
Rock hounding the hot, high desert

-  Our geological field experience expanded

-  Our aesthetic criteria for stone and found objects clarified

-  Our lapidary expertise matured

Our best day is hunting rocks in the hot, high desert; bringing them home to the saw and lapidary; discovering remarkable designs in the stone; and realizing that vision in polished treasures.

Sweat, discovery, and beauty that can be shared - doesn't get better for us.
